For nearly a decade, we’ve worked with numerous students to help them achieve their educational goals. Using a tailored approach, our founder and CEO, Sheila Janzen, works closely with families to understand each student’s needs, meets them where they are academically, and builds a clear path for learning that will support them as they grow and thrive.

We design a personalized learning plan for each student that builds from year to year, guiding them from elementary education, through secondary education, and continuing into post-secondary education. This plan sets a high standard, encouraging continuous improvement.

Meet the teachers!
Sheila holds three university degrees: BA hons in intellectual history; BEd in secondary education with teaching areas in English, social studies, and creative movement; and, MFA in writing. Sheila has taught for over 20 years in academic environments as an elementary and secondary classroom teacher, writing instructor, and sessional lecturer in curriculum studies in the College of Education at the University of Saskatchewan. Most recently, she has been privileged to be a private teacher for the past 8 years, mentoring many students, some of whom have already gone on to many prestigious universities in undergraduate and graduate programs across the globe, and some already on to successful careers. Her primary focus is on the individual needs of her students, facilitating them in honing their skills to be successful in academia, career, and life!
Personal life and achievements for Sheila include a nomination for the thesis award for her masters project: YXE Beyond Boundaries, a dystopian YA novel. She is currently editing two novels set for publication in the summer of 2025. Beyond her academic accolades, Sheila is a mother of a talented artist and educator, Ava Janzen. She is also mother to two dogs and two cats with whom she enjoys spending time. Sheila loves hiking, reading, writing, and practicing yoga. Above all, Sheila’s main focus in life is the success and care of her family and her students!
Sheila Janzen
Ava has her bilingual certification in French Language; her acting diploma from Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts; and her grade 10 Vocal from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She is an award-nominated professional music artist under the pseudonym “Vikki Minor”. Ava specialises in teaching French immersion, beginner French, French language skills and literature at the elementary and secondary levels, public speaking, and vocal skills at both beginner and intermediate levels. Ava’s goals as a teacher are to provide her students with the tools and confidence to excel in their education and future careers!
When it comes to personal life, Ava enjoys reading literature and essays, watching films and television shows in both English and French, practicing yoga, spending time with her wonderful mom Sheila and their four animals, writing music, and spending time helping her students excel. Ava’s main objectives are to create a fun environment where her students want to improve and achieve the highest levels of success!
